Most people have had pineapple in one form or another via piña colada, desserts or in juices but nothing compares to a fresh Hawaii pineapple. Its sweet, juicy distinct taste says you’re in the tropical isles. Pineapple contains a proteolytic enzyme, which breaks down protein so it’s good for digestion as well as in marinades to tenderize meat. It’s also good for your body since pineapples are a good source of manganese and vitamin C. Pineapples are quite perishable and should be eaten within two days of purchase if stored at room temperature. Pineapple is the global symbol of hospitality and means welcome.
